I regularly take coconut juice while I am doing my evening walks and I have a regular fruit vendor a muslim youth by the name of Iqbal a local boy who runs a fruit shop with his father near my house . The fruit shop is frequented by me regularly and I have become friendly with the glad who enquires about my books and my exercise program . Today we had a conversation about the film Padmavati ,” Sir I think the film got the character of Alauddin Khiji and Rawal Ratan Singh all wrong . I think Khilji was not that bad a man as the film has painted him out to be .” Iqbal lamented .” Well I think you are right Rawal Ratan Singh was equally a lustful man , I mean he married Padmavati when he still had a first wife . He was an aiyaash maybe even a bigger one than Allaudin .” I said in quiet affirmation .

“ I mean if the film was made in Pakistan they would have made Allaudin a positive character and Rawal Ratan a negative character . It is all about perspectives and what narrative you believe in . They had to make Khilji bad so they could appease the Rajisthaini’s .” Iqbal had a valid point and it made me think and ponder .

I went towards the hilly side of Dehra Doon today and saw many street kids flying kites as the sun set at the distant horizon .  The video in the new cinematic mode looks good as I clocked 15 km of walking for three days on the trot .

Mithya: What’s It About:

A Hindi literature professor Juhi (Huma Qureshi) is trying to deal with the hurdles in her life just when she comes across a student Rhea (Avantika Dassani) who submits a plagiarized assignment. Lesser does Juhi know that Rhea is about to turn her world upside down and that Vendetta is going to cost her everything.

Mithya: What Works:

Mithya is an official adaptation of the British show Cheat. Now I haven’t seen the original, so the review is entirely based on the Indian version. Set in the North Of Indian, Mithya is a story of revenge, thrill and top of all suspense. Adding a name in the whodunnit genre, the show begins on a very spooky note. The fact that it is set in a landscape that does half the job of inducing the chilling element is a smart move.

While I have my share of complaints, the biggest achievement the show manages to achieve is keeping a big secret intact till the end. Now the execution of it does fail, but that is for the latter part of the review. Writers Althea Kaushal and Anvita Dutt (Bulbbul) bring their expertise to the table and create tension.

There is a parallel story of a couple trying to conceive and it does make you hooked to them. Both Huma and Parambrata make you root for them with their performances.

Mithya: Star Performance:

Huma Qureshi with her acting talent and beautiful curls tries her level best to make some sense of this sinking ship. She is the only reason I could sit through the 6 episodes that literally felt like a daily soap opera shot on a high budget.

Parambrata Chatterjee does an impressive job in his limited screen presence and becomes a very pivotal part to the story.

Avantika Dassani has a lot to learn. Given the most complex part of the entire show, she doesn’t really bring out the entire angst as one would expect. She continues to have the same expression from scene one. This could also be a brief given to her for keeping the mystery intact but not the correct decision.

Mithya: What Doesn’t Work:

The whodunnit genre is not new. The Bhatt’s and Sippy’s have been trying their level best to ace it. Rohan Sippy gets back to direction with Mithya. The writing of the Huma Qureshi starrer doesn’t really sit right. There is always something missing. The purpose for each character is so paper thin and the revelation of bigger things created no impact on me.

Why would a student be so revengeful, and what are odds that she might just have some personal vendetta against the professor. If you telling me she has been planning this for years, she has clearly not planned enough. There are so many question. Why is a professor lured by his wife’s student so easily? Also, why isn’t anyone from Rhea’s family bothered or informed about her doing when she comes from such an influential background? Why on Earth would a man carry out a sting operation and tell his subject about it right there? Why does a Rhea has ‘Spaced Out’ written in block letters on her laptop, and she is spacing out in that scene?

The show takes many lazy turns. The way the murder is played by the end of every episode dilutes the entire purpose. The music is less thrilling and more horror show inspired. It gets into philosophy of Mithya (untruth) too but never explored enough that you connect the happenings to it.

Akshay Kumar has unveiled the trailer of his upcoming Holi release, Bachchhan Paandey. The actor is back in a never seen before avatar of a colourful character, as he plays a cruel gangster with a stone eye.

I have now included a few more healthy treats in my diet. I now have some brown rice for my dinner.  I had abstained from rice and potatoes for the last four months but brown rice is healthy and has a lot of fiber which is good for health, so when on a diet have brown rice only. I have also added healthy flour to my diet now my rotis are made from Makka flour and Bajra flour the rotis are tastier and also very filling and tastily. I have also abstained from sugar or any sweet-based or confectionary products like cakes, cookies, pastries any kind of sweat yogurts or smoothies, and ice creams.

But now I have some dark sugar-free chocolate also from time to time if I feel like something sweet after dinner. I make sure my lunch and dinner portions are small and that I avoid overeating. I have also added Shilajjeet to my diet I mix the black thick liquid with neem honey and have a spoonful from time to time that gives me vitality and energy it is also very good for my sex life.

I have a very packed daily schedule now where I sleep for nine hours a day, exercise for three hours which includes two hours of jogging and brisk walking amounting to 10 km a day, I do road biking for half an hour about three kilometers a day and then do yoga mat exercise including stomach crunches and lunges for half an hour a day that strengthens my legs and the dumbbells help reduce fat on my boobs. I dedicate five hours to my profession of writing and blogging so that I can achieve my target of launching one book a month. I spend two hours dedicating myself to eating and two hours bathing, and personal hygiene which includes shampoo, putting cream on my body and using scrubs. Two hours I dedicate to surfing the news on the net watching YouTube videos and chatting with friends on the phone. The last hour of the day I spend with my aging grandmother just before I retire to bed. That’s how my day goes without me even knowing where the time is flying.

Today I finished the end of four months of my fat to fit weight loss program and I averaged about 11.2 km of brisk walking along with jogging. Yes! This month I picked up the pace and have started jogging also, when I get tired I stop and walk for a distance and start jogging again. Another fun activity I have added to my routine is biking and cycling and I do twenty minutes of biking every day. Jogging helps in the cardio and that is helpful in burning fat and improving fitness, I do get some blisters and rashes on my toe, but that has reduced over time. I have added grapes, cheese, and sugar-free dark chocolate to my diet. I have also started using Macca atta and Bajra atta along with brown rice to my diet also.

My weight loss has not been much this entire month I have only lost half a kilo, my with loss in kilo’s has reduced this month but I feel lighter for sure and I am able to cover longer distances in quicker time in that regards my fitness has improved, but I am not shedding weight as rapidly as I was in the first three months of the exercise. My skin tone has improved also and I feel very energetic.

Its assembly election fever in Dehra Doon and Uttrakhand these days and I get to see huge crowds on the street neither dressed in saffron caps or the congress colours even the AAP is in full flow here . The streets are littered with posters and flags with faces of the candidates plasters on the walls . Now and again an electric rickshaw wizzes past me with loud speakers blaring the message of one party or the other , yes this is election time for sure .

Went out jogging today , now I do not do just brisk walking but do jogging also in intervals along with stretching , the extra cardio makes me sweet and gets the heart pumping in the morning . The first thing I witnessed today as I got out of my house and into the main street was an accident a hospital ambulance had collided into a Hyundai black SUV . The radiator of the ambulance was smashed with the green engine coolant splattered on the rood the front side of the black SUV had a huge dent and had caved in .

I managed to capture the scene in my I phone and even made a video in the new cinematic mode . I even managed to capture the frustration of the driver as he paced about the road in anguish trying to jostle the ambulance driver who looked harassed and was constantly trying to contact someone through his cell phone .

As I walked further I was again chased my stereo dogs it has become a regular affair for me either being harassed by dogs or getting hit on the arm and elbow by the side view mirror of apron hing cars who past by me almost knocking me over . Thankfully I have managed to find a safe and quite route to do my biking and avoid the main roads in the city , when on my road bike .

Director Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan starring Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa in the lead roles is just a day away from release. The film’s premiere was held on Wednesday night and saw the actors step out in their stylish best.

Ahead of the film’s release on streaming platform Amazon Prime Video, Gehraiyaan has been cleared with an ‘A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Turns out, the CBFC cleared the film without a single cut.

However, the Examining Committee did recommend a few modifications after watch Shakun Batra’s directorial. The recommendations of the EC were reportedly carried out and the film has now received an ‘Adults Only’ certificate. Ever since the release of the film’s trailer, Gehraiyaan has made headlines for its intimate and kissing scenes.

In fact, it is also the first Hindi film where an Intimacy Director has been credited. However, Shakun Batra has said that intimacy has been treated as a character. He was also of the opinion that intimacy has been given too much importance, “I think there are more conversations about intimacy than probably the story deserves,” Batra had said earlier.

Deepika, on the other hand, had revealed her biggest takeaway from the film. “The one thing I have learnt from this film is not to judge because there is always a reason why they do what they do. The minute you understand the emotion or the thought process behind the action, there is automatically empathy,” the actress had earlier told Mid-Day.
