The streets of Dehra Doon is my stomping ground these days as I go about by regular power walks through the city during the morning and then through the evening. I am clocking 10 km week on week and have managed to walk 14 km on some days as well. On the way, I stop for idli or some filer coffee, munch on corn cobs, and even enjoy some coconut juice late evenings. Now after ten weeks of power walking my body has gotten used to it and I move faster than I used to when I first started the fat-burning process, yesterday I even managed to do some stomach crunches 20 in all using a boy yoga mat. The body is becoming more supple and I feel lighter for sure, and why not I have lost more than 5 kgs since I began. This is below my target of losing 4kgs a week but I am happy that I have managed to stick to the routine. I had planned lots of vegetables, dals and lemon water. I have stuck to being a vegetarian and in the last two months, I created only once. Yes! I did manage to have a plate of salmon with vegetables and mash potatoes, but that was a treat for walking 13.4 km that’s a day apart from that I have stayed away from fried foods snacks ice creams, and even given but soft drinks.
I do manage to stroll into the local supermarket at times for a quick shopping session and even manage to buy a new pair of Nike shoes to help me with my brisk walking. I am loving the new shoe it is wonderful and feels so light even when I stomp on the tarmac roads. I munch on alma on some days to give me the vitamin C I need. The lemon water with honey keeps me hydrated. My skin also feels fresh as I sweat it out during the evening.
It was wonderful walking all the way to Rajpur road on Christmas Day, I took some pictures and videos of the crowd people shopping and celebrating the festival, the Omicron scare made sure the crowd was not as much as a few years back but people were still out enjoying the winter festival.
I Feel if I keep going like this I will one day be able to trek all the way to Missouri and spend time on the hills walking all the time. The mountain terrain will help me lose more weight I feel. This is one dimension I want to add trekking all the way to the mountains of Missouri. Instead of going gaming, I feel natural mountain walking would help me more and be natural. After all, I feel I need to explore more natural ways of losing body weight and fat, therefore I want to stay away from gyms and weight training and tread machines in ac gyms. I have never explored Dehra Doon this way and it’s fun losing myself on empty faraway streets in this city. Till then enjoy the pictures of my jogging and walking shoes along with my yoga mat which I use to do sit-ups and stomach crunches.
