On Monday, a Russian court banned Facebook and Instagram in the country after classifying their parent app Meta Platforms as an ‘extremist’ organization. The ban does not include WhatsApp, as reported by Russia’s TASS news agency. Earlier, Russia had blocked access to Instagram after Meta said it would allow Ukrainian users to post messages urging violence against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

There are a lot of great ways to check and test your internet speeds. Maybe you’re trying to figure out your internet connection’s download and upload speeds to ensure your network is working correctly, or perhaps you just want to show your friends how fast your internet is for some reason. One great way to check your speeds, if you want, is to use Google. Of course, there are other options too. Here’s how.
Before you can check your internet speed, you need to make sure that you’re actually connected to an active network. Locate your desired SSID (assuming you’re using a wireless connection, which you probably are), sign in, and make sure there is a secure connection. You can head on over to Google.com to double check that your internet connection is working.
Now that you’re already on Google’s homepage, simply search for “speed test.” Of course, there’ll be search results for online options to check your speed like Speedtest by Ookla, but above that will be Google’s own speed test offering.
To check your internet speed, click on Run Speed Test. In real-time, you can watch the web applet check your ping, download, and upload speeds. After the test is completed, you can see the results, the server location that was used in the speed test, a bit of information about your network’s speed including what you should be able to do (like stream HD videos), and the ability to rerun the test.
Continue ReadingAlong with my daily fitness regime that includes yoga mat exercises stomach crunches and dumbbells along with 10 miles of brisk walking, I have also added skin, body, and beauty treatment. Today I put on a see week face mask that I got from The Body Shop, I use a lot of their products including soaps, face creams, and other youth products like shampoos, conditioners, and oils. Check out my pictures with a face mask on that I use twice a week to cleanse the facial pores of my skin after a workout. After I have worked out a sweat I clean my skin which is great as my facial skin feels very soft and due to the exercise my pores have cleared.
I feel brighter and lighter by the day, I keep ruching on dry fruits if I feel hungry and that takes care of my diet during the day after the regular lunch and dinner.
With my green t-shirt, I look like the guy in the chainsaw massacre. I enjoy pampering my skin all day with yogurts and lotions from Body Shop and my fitness is helping me to shed my weight, ahh pure bliss. Now it is getting hotter by the day and I have just installed a new ac in my room which is keeping me cool and I feel relaxed throughout the day.
Continue ReadingAn incident that had occurred while shooting the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ has now come into the discussions on social media. According to the posts by Twitter users, actor Chinmay Mandlekar who has played the role of an Islamic terrorist in the film was opposed by the people of Dehradun when he was shouting anti-India slogans for shooting a scene from the film in the city. The people made the whole crew stop the shooting due to the slogans. The shooting was restored only after the people were assured that this is not an anti-India film.
Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has confirmed this hearsay to be true by sharing an image regarding this incident from his Twitter handle. He has written, “True story. The Kashmir files.” Attached with this caption is an image from the Instagram handle called Hindu Secrets. In this image, it is written that “Remember the starting scene of The Kashmir Files where Farooq Ahmed Bitta was shouting anti-Indian slogans! The shooting of that scene was done in Dehradun. Role of Bitta was done by Chinmay Mandlekar and the role of terrorists who were standing near him were the local people of Dehradun.”
The image further reads, “Locals happily participated in shooting scene but they soon forced the filmmakers to stop the shooting when they heard the anti-Indian slogans in the script! Filmmakers had to convince local people that this movie is not anti-Indian. Also, Chinmay Mandlekar showed his previous Marathi movies to local people in which he played the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj!”
It is mentioned in the image that, “Finally locals allowed them to do shooting with the strict condition that filmmakers and especially Chinmay Mandlekar should shout the slogan Bharat Mata ki Jai once the shooting scene is over!”
Today the festival colours of Holi could be seen everywhere on the streets of Dehra Doon, people were all over the town as holi fires burnt on the street. It was festival time for sure as people enjoyed sweet gujiiya and painted each other’s faces with holy colours. This was time for fun and frolics. There were many Pooja pandals all over the city as people were being served vegetable pulls rice by food stalls for free.
Holi time is great for kids in general as they play with their pichkari’s and water colours. Enjoy some of my snaps as I meander the streets of Dehra Doon loving every bit of the festival that is Holi.
Continue ReadingI have now finished the fifth month of my fat to fit regime and I wanted to take a quick dipstick, my weight is now 90 kgs that are a weight loss of ten kilos in five months. Which is a good achievement for a beginner like me. I am averaging a weight loss of 2kgs per month or half a kilo per week. Find attached a picture from my running and jogging tracker which clearly shows I have walked 14.5 km per day as an average for the fifth month an increase of three kilometers from the last month. Along with that, I have added cycling and dumbbell exercise to my daily regime which has helped in reducing the weight and the fat from my belly.
As it is now getting hotter I have two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice and at times also have sugar cane juice when I am out doing my brisk walks. I feel fitter and lighter and also run occasionally when I am out on the road. Hope I can motivate others also to do the same and reduce weight in a healthy manner as it will do wonders for people’s health and vitality. My body movements and posture have also changed for the better and so has my breathing. I intend to continue this regime for a long time to come as I have made a major lifestyle change now and inculcated many good habits that will keep me instead for the long run.

As I had said previously that I have now started running and that is giving me immense joy, I did another 10 miles today. Took some snaps while I ran on the tarmac-laden roads of Dehra Doon. Today was a big day in the state of Uttarakhand as the assembly election results were declared today the BJP won by a landslide. My walks take me across the BJP local office in the city situated at Balbir Road. There was a celebration going on as people burst firecrackers and drums were played the saffron brigade was out in full pop and glory. People danced as VVIP enters the gates of the party office. There were security personnel and black cat commandos all over the place escorting the cars that drove across the road. It was pandemonium as street urchins did the bhangra and the sky lit up with sparks of firecrackers.
The BJP is in power in the state and large cutouts of Modi droned the walls of the state office, the party has won four states out of five today and it was the big win in UP that has put the feather in the cap for its party workers.
I stopped to make a video and take some pictures, I wanted to soak in the celebrations for a while as I sipped water from my bottle the police gains pushed me to the side as caravans of one big politician after another drop into the large white gates of the BJP local office.
I have been spending about four hours a day just walking and doing yoga these days and I feel just fine. I hope to continue my routines till I hit my final goal which is yet very far off. I want to be 74 kg with a BMI of 25 by the time I finish and that will still take some time, but till then enjoy some pictures and videos of my exercise schedule.
Continue ReadingNow in the fifth month of my weight loss program, I have started jogging and even running as I go about pounding the roads of Dehra Doon. I get a tremendous burst of energy when I Strat running and I do it in a measured manner, I run for one minute or so and then walk ten minutes and I keep repeating that as I go along. I use the stopwatch of my mobile to time my short bursts of running and jogging as I go along my daily brisk walks even today I managed to cover 17 km along with that I do half an hour of yoga mat exercises that include a set of 35 stomach lunches and a set of fifty dumbness exercising that include chest expansions and curls. I Do a set of twenty leg-up crunches as I finish my routine. That’s a dedicated three-and-a-half-hour of exercising every day. I feel very energetic as the night before going to bed and feel this was the best trip in life it is such a high and so exhilarating. I kick myself for not getting into a daily exercise routine before.
The benefits are many folds my breathing has improved and my BPM for my heart has become very normal there is a general air of well-being within me and the sweat I break out during my runs revitalizes me immensely. I was never into fitness and have always been overweight so for me, this is a new feeling I had been carrying 25 kg of extra weight for over a decade but now I feel light having shed eight kilos.
With my jogging and intermittent running, I hope to get even more fit and lose weight at maybe a faster rate than the current 2 kg a month. But my goal is still distant I hope to be 72 kg by the end of this year there is still a long way to go as my current weight is 92 kilos. But I am enjoying each day as it comes and has learned to enjoy the process and not worry about the goal. My goal is distant and if I think too much about the finish line I will miss out on the process and the joy of getting fit and exercising. I have learned to enjoy the process of buying my own food experimenting with healthy food and enjoying more fruits and vegetables now than I used to before.
I jog and walk till 10;30 pm at night and sometimes later than that, it does take a lot of time from my daily schedule but I think it will be worth it in the long run if I have to hit my weight loss goal. Maybe I will add new exercises as I go along to spice things up for me, after all, one has to enjoy getting fitter. As I get fitter the need in me to exercise more has rekindled and that’s fun.
My sleep has improved and I get a much deeper sleep now than I used to, I wake up fresh and alive and feel like a feather compared to what I used to be. I eat dry fruits and pineapple or grapes after every exercise schedule as I am working out more now I need to make sure I have enough energy for it. I do not like protein shales and hate using supplements so I feast on dals, dates, and dry fruits instead to give me nourishment for my jogging and yoga mat exercise.
The night walks and jogs can get scary at times as I get chased by my hounds and dogs on the street, especially near dark alleys and road corners but I have learned to shoo them away and don’t get startled anymore. Some snaps for you to enjoy along with today’s dinner thali picture.
