Now in the fifth month of my weight loss program, I have started jogging and even running as I go about pounding the roads of Dehra Doon. I get a tremendous burst of energy when I Strat running and I do it in a measured manner, I run for one minute or so and then walk ten minutes and I keep repeating that as I go along. I use the stopwatch of my mobile to time my short bursts of running and jogging as I go along my daily brisk walks even today I managed to cover 17 km along with that I do half an hour of yoga mat exercises that include a set of 35 stomach lunches and a set of fifty dumbness exercising that include chest expansions and curls. I Do a set of twenty leg-up crunches as I finish my routine. That’s a dedicated three-and-a-half-hour of exercising every day. I feel very energetic as the night before going to bed and feel this was the best trip in life it is such a high and so exhilarating. I kick myself for not getting into a daily exercise routine before.

The benefits are many folds my breathing has improved and my BPM for my heart has become very normal there is a general air of well-being within me and the sweat I break out during my runs revitalizes me immensely. I was never into fitness and have always been overweight so for me, this is a new feeling I had been carrying 25 kg of extra weight for over a decade but now I feel light having shed eight kilos.

With my jogging and intermittent running, I hope to get even more fit and lose weight at maybe a faster rate than the current 2 kg a month. But my goal is still distant I hope to be 72 kg by the end of this year there is still a long way to go as my current weight is 92 kilos. But I am enjoying each day as it comes and has learned to enjoy the process and not worry about the goal. My goal is distant and if I think too much about the finish line I will miss out on the process and the joy of getting fit and exercising. I have learned to enjoy the process of buying my own food experimenting with healthy food and enjoying more fruits and vegetables now than I used to before.

I jog and walk till 10;30 pm at night and sometimes later than that, it does take a lot of time from my daily schedule but I think it will be worth it in the long run if I have to hit my weight loss goal. Maybe I will add new exercises as I go along to spice things up for me, after all, one has to enjoy getting fitter. As I get fitter the need in me to exercise more has rekindled and that’s fun.

My sleep has improved and I get a much deeper sleep now than I used to, I wake up fresh and alive and feel like a feather compared to what I used to be. I eat dry fruits and pineapple or grapes after every exercise schedule as I am working out more now I need to make sure I have enough energy for it. I do not like protein shales and hate using supplements so I feast on dals, dates, and dry fruits instead to give me nourishment for my jogging and yoga mat exercise.

The night walks and jogs can get scary at times as I get chased by my hounds and dogs on the street, especially near dark alleys and road corners but I have learned to shoo them away and don’t get startled anymore. Some snaps for you to enjoy along with today’s dinner thali picture.
