On Monday, a Russian court banned Facebook and Instagram in the country after classifying their parent app Meta Platforms as an ‘extremist’ organization. The ban does not include WhatsApp, as reported by Russia’s TASS news agency. Earlier, Russia had blocked access to Instagram after Meta said it would allow Ukrainian users to post messages urging violence against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
