This is my last night from Coorg the coffee city of the south , I will move towards Chikmagalur tomorrow afternoon and hit the city by late evening . The entire day went lazying in my room I have stopped my regular 10 km walks for over two weeks and the laziness has seeped through me . But a new city might just pep me up for a while and take away any cobwebs and confusions that still plague my mind .
My mind is so fickle and I have been day dreaming all though out my trip , my thoughts have gone from one extreme to another .The voyage to Chikmagalur was a long one more then five hours my driver told me . The afternoon’s are hot here and the air is dusty , we passed through a wild life sanctuary and then meandered on to the high way passing through shallow sparse and dusty villages along with cultivated farm land , most people in the villages are farmers or trade in cement and other construction material . There are no major restaurant or eateries in the area but we managed to find a local lunch joint , a small hotel with bare minimum . It served chicken and rice and mutton along with sugar and curd . We decided to stop over for a meal , the chicken was so spicy that my mouth started watering . I just managed to have a few spoons and the had to stop the chilled and the masala’s where so bad .It was a poor mans lunch home made for bus drivers , farmers and local rickshaw pullers it was so basic .
As expected we arrived at Chikmagalur in the evening and I checked into to my resort which to my surprise was plush and very welcoming . It had large rooms , massage parlour and a coffee shop . I was pleased that I had made a good choice at least with regards to my stay . The evenings here are cool with a little nip in the air and I enjoyed my one hour walk in the evening . I managed to pass by the local cinema hall Millan Cinema where one of the regional block buster was paying . I ventured into the street market’s of the city and found it to be a very active and bustling place .
Till then enjoy some pictures …..
