Recently, it was revealed by a publication that director Karthik. K, known to be an associate director on Shankar’s landmark films like Shivaji, Aparichit, and 2.0 is set to make his directorial debut with a film set against the backdrop of economic fugitives in India. The film will be based on real-life scams by top businessmen like Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, and Mehul Choksi. And now, we have exclusively learnt that the makers are in advanced talks with Anurag Kashyap to play the character of Vijay Mallya in the film.
“The makers are in advanced talks with Anurag Kashyap to play the role of Vijay Mallya in the film. Director Karthik K has a certain vision to make the film on a grand scale and he will be presenting Vijay Mallya with complete flamboyance. The scale too will be big, with all the flights, charters, parties and the controversies making up for a spicy story,” revealed a source close to the development, adding further that other key stakeholders around the life of Vijay Mallya will be locked soon. Kashyap will get a prosthetic makeover to play the role of Mallya on screen.
The film goes on floors from November 20 in Mumbai, which will be followed by schedules in various European countries, including the UK. “The idea is to revisit his controversial life and showcase his lifestyle after fleeing from India. His character will be seen living a king-size life surrounded by models, with those yacht parties, high-end cars, and lot more,” the source concluded.
The film is titled File No. 323 and will be directed by Karthik K. File No. 323 is produced by Kalol Das, Mihir Mutta, Prateebha Vyas, and Vakil Khan. It will be the big 2023 release in theatres. After receiving massive success at the box office, Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva has now been released on the OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar. While the reviews are still coming, the director of the film, Ayan Mukerji, spoke about the changes his team made in Brahmastra. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ayan Mukerji discussed why he made those changes and how it will enhance the experience of the viewer.
On being complimented that he looked “slightly relaxed”, Ayan surprisingly responded by saying, “Am I?” However, he agreed and explained that after the release of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, he got “a little bit of time”, though not as much as he wanted, to take things easy. As he elaborated, Mukerji recalled that after his first two films were released, Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, he was “free”.
However, explaining how it was different after Brahmastra, Ayan said, “We continued to work for the digital release. We refined the sound of the film. Pritam Dada came in and cleaned up some bits that were not actually there in the cinema release. I went back to the edit and I added a few nips and tucks. Our team has actually been working up till this point to continue on the film.” Ayan also added that he is “hoping” that his holiday will begin after the OTT release.
The 39-year-old director went on to elaborate on the changes done for the OTT release of the film. Mukerji stated that a comment on Alia’s love graph in the film reached out to him. While confessing that the edit for the cinematic release was sharp that did not catch actors’ expressions, the new edits give a smoother graph.
He said, “I added some bits in Shiva and Isha’s love story, Isha’s pull towards Shiva, and a couple of dialogues. It’s subtle stuff. I believe that it will make the journey of the film a little smoother.”

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh started his career in 2010 with Band Baaja Baaraat bankrolled by Yash Raj Films. The relationship between Ranveer and YRF has always been and continues to be one of immense mutual respect and affection.”
A few days ago, the portal had also reported that Parineeti Chopra has moved out of YRF’s talent management agency. However, it’s all done amicably. The report had stated that Parineeti wanted to explore other avenues, and thus she decided to move to another talent management agency.
