I just got a call from my screenplay writer Sharad, he has been invited for a meeting at Rashmi Sharma Productions. “ Boss they want me to write three extra episodes for the series, and they will also pay me for it .” He was excited, why not his contacts and Pitch at Watchoo Channel had failed, they wanted to get Rashmi Verma fucked after every episode, plus they were not ready to pay the writer fro writing extra episodes, which emends they were not serious about the project .”If Rashmi Sharma productions are paying you to write extra episodes then it means they are serious about the project, go forward and write it .” That was my advice to the screenplay writer .” They are serious plus they want to pitch it as a high-value project at least 10 lakhs per episode. Makes sense .” He tried to explain the finer points of the meeting to me .” I told them that I wanted a retro look and the sex will be limited to 5 to 6 min for the entire series, they agreed to the fact that this was a sold story and filling it with sleaze will just ruin everything, they want to pitch to Alt Balaji and zee 5 here more importance will be given to the story and treatment plus they will have bigger budgets .” I was happy that the production house had a bigger vision for my story.
Now we are getting somewhere, we have two prospects who have shown intent in pitching the story to various channels, my friend Raj Shandilya, who is Ekta’s golden Boy and Rashmi Verma Productions where the project is being spearheaded by Anuj, my namesake. The interesting thing is Anuj got to know about the story from Anirudh Bahal who is my best friend in the book and his character name is Ani Bahal in the book, here also there is an uncanny connection.
So Sharad is now writing the next six episodes and adding more texture to the series I am sure a few more characters will be also added from the book to increase the scope of the series. So far so good at least someone is willing to put money into the project even if it is only a few thousand rupees for writing.
