I stare afar from the window of my hotel view, I see the sun shining in the afternoon sky all bright and yellow throwing it’s energies into my room through the opaque window, I can feel the warmth of the sun rays on my skin and on my back. The in room air conditioner keeps things inside cool keeping some room for the warm sunlight to dive in and brighten the room, the cabinet lights are still on as I have moved the curtains so that I can have the flush view of the sea and the beach.
The hotel garden and lawns stare at me from below their is water in the pool and a small watering hole with orange fish floating carelessly tapping at the are as droplets of cool pool water fills the moist air to give some relief to the dry surrounding air that flows aimlessly. The sea is calm yet active as the sun light throwing an orange and yellow hue on its grey surface. The waves Lap up the seashore hitting the sand with gusto as many walkers and joggers hurry up and down the beach, throwing sand into the air.
The coconut and palm trees that surround the garden move sideways as a brisk breeze flows through. The pool water is cool and the goldfish hungry, it seems that they are in luck as a fellow travellers throws Bread crumbs at them. The fish feed themselves as he moves across the narrow pool feeding them all one buy one. I have seen him often hear at this time of day feeding the fish or just walking on the narrow bridge and walkway built in the garden. Nice way to idle time I suppose, with the lockdown this is a good way to pass time.
The vast sea at times shows the arrival of a ship floating across the horizon, one can see motor bats or a small fret at times bobbing up and down, but the sea is empty this afternoon as the hot air collides with moist sea droplets to create a clam and tranquil atmosphere.
Pigeons and doves fly over the garden diving from high up in the sky to the shallow pools that litter the green garden lawns. Decorated with blue beach chairs with blue cushions it is a party feel but there is no party happening as the garden is empty with a lone walker taking an afternoon walk on the walkway.
With a belly full of friend rice and beans I sit on my couch just staring at the sea wondering what else awaits me ahead in my Mumbai Saga.
