Kangana Ranaut has extended an invitation to filmmaker Karan Johar to collaborate on a film, offering him a significant role in a project she promises will be more than just a typical family drama or PR stunt. During her appearance on the singing reality show Indian Idol, she said, “I’m sorry to say, but Karan sir should work with me. I’ll give him a great role in a film that’s not just about mother-in-law and daughter-in-law fights, and not just a PR exercise. It’ll be a proper film with a meaningful role for him.”

This offer comes years after Kangana famously criticized Karan Johar as the “flag-bearer of nepotism” on Koffee With Karan in 2017. Despite their past tensions, Kangana now seeks to collaborate professionally, offering him a substantial role in a film she would direct.

Kangana’s next film, Emergency, which is set during the 1970s Emergency period in India, is scheduled for release on January 17, 2025. She has also addressed the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) mandated cuts to the film, acknowledging that while she would have preferred the full version, the central message of patriotism remains intact despite the changes.
