The first phase of the cricket world cup was over and I felt like going to some place cool near the blue sea and island maybe .Yes I have friends all over the world now and I decided to head off for Mauritius in search of love and the sea . I have been to the island two years back but my yearning for the love of a women I left behind was pulling me back , also I made some good friends like Kavi Raj the police officer , Kavish who is a sergeant their whole family greeted me well last time and I was also invited to the family dinner where I was a guest of honour . I decided to contact Kavi Raj and sent him my tickets the two way trip costed me Rs 75,000 and Kavi Raj did my hotel booking at Blue Bay for a $ 130 a night . Their is no visa fee for Indians to enter and you get a 20 days tourist visa for free no bother .
Kavi Raj came over to pick me up and I parked myself in my new abode it was facing the sea and I could see only the vast oceanic blue collar with coral sand and white beaches , Some foreign era sun bathed the others just did some sailing all afternoon which was very popular along with motor boat racing .The sea was calm and the sun. was pout but it must be 23 degree centigrade only . It rained two nights on the trot as the sea got rough and frightening at night their was a roaring storm and I slept in my room after closing all the sliding doors . Walking distance to my hotel room was a restaurant serving Italian and Mauritian food along with wine and scotch . I zeroed in on it and enjoyed beef pasta , Chicken curry and rice and even a cheese Pizza. This was a alcohol free trip for me and I stuck to coke no beer even . A few days I hung around with Kavi Raj as we even managed to catch a Bollywood film called Bharat in the cineplex .
Most days I stood upon my balcony just staring at the sea from time to time I took some photographs from my mounted camera . In the morning a group of taxi drivers would gun for me asking for business . I ventured into the local departmental store to buy a cigarette pack . Near my hotel was the. Beach were families gathered for a picnic , some did boating others listen to live music , the kids eat ice cream , hawkers sold toys , clothes , food stalls mounted on vans sold cutlets , pakoda’s , samosa and other savouries .Their was a carnival feel to the place at night when singers sang and musicians made music .Four days in this city I had started getting it’s feel and the slowness and the calmness of the sea was putting me to sleep till the wee hours of the morning .i had arrived back into the city only to welcomed by Kavi raj and his police men for a dinner date at a local guest house . Yes I can say with pride the security and police forces of this city are my friends and comrades in arm .
