I was invited to give a talk and recitation of my horror book PUTLI today at the Terra Pizzeria, the book launch event was organized by BookNerds a famous book blog in Dehra Doon . The event was a gathering of around forty people all dressed in fancy Halloween Costumes, they where book lovers a the famous novels of Stephen King was on display. I was welcomed by a witch a lady dressed in a black cloak with a painted face greeted me as I urged them to promote my next erotica book I also slept with Rashmi Verma as well .
We all sat around a table had Cranberry Juice a substitute for blood I would presume .One after the other writers and budding authors shared their experiences with all of us and chatted away on how they began their author journey . The discussion ranged from mysticism to after life experiences as one speaker after another poured their hearts out . Even young teenagers and kids got excited about when they got spoked reading a horror genre book. I would time and again dive into the tray in-front of me to enjoy dark chocolate and five star chocolates.
We had an army officer who spoke about going insane due to living in deep isolation in the hills and how much he enjoyed Jack Nicholson in the movie shining. I walked amongst the crowd and then spoke deeply about my days in an asylum and how that experience I was able to translate into a book , called Razdan Ka Pagal Khana .
Kids hung around at the door wearing horror costumes no doubt trying the emulate the Halloween feeling. I took some more pictures and then I began to feel the hunger pangs so I walked into the restaurant above for a bite to eat .It was cheese Pizza with roast chicken, the owner played sad songs from yesterdays as I engaged in more gossip and banter with the people around sharing my thoughts on literature and how wonderful a place Dehra Doon is.
I was happy to give my entire evening to the event books are my current love and it makes me truly happy to discuss story ideas with people .I also took some snaps and videos of the event which you can enjoy too.
