The day started late for me as I had some trouble sleeping due to the soda fizzy water that I had been drinking at the hotel. The soda upset my stomach, and I slept in until late morning. Consequently, the day began late, but it soon picked up pace when my driver, Usain, arrived. Our first stop was the local garden, where I decided to take my customary 5 km walk every day. I strolled around the garden, chatting with local kids, students, and urchins. I even managed to snap a photo with an old grandmother and chat with the little kids playing in the garden. It was fun, and I was happy that the day started with so many smiles. We soon settled for some tea and dates at the local tea shop.
The city of Lankaran is sleepy and has an air of serenity and calmness that I have not witnessed in any other city. I love the streets and the people; they are so loving and warm, especially towards Indians. Due to Bollywood films, everyone knows about Indian culture. People love Mithun in this part of the world, along with Raj Kapoor and even Nargis. One of my favorite songs to listen to in the car is from the Raj Kapoor film “Awara”; it’s a great number. The people of Lankaran love old-time movies like “Sangam,” “Seeta aur Geeta,” and “Awara”; they admire Rajendra Kumar and even sing old Hindi Bollywood songs. I could connect with them as I showed them some of my films in which I have acted.
After tea in the park, we ventured to grab a bite to eat at the local KFC. It was here, outside the joint, that my eyes fell on the most beautiful lady I have ever seen. She was just perfect, like Monalisa, like Cleopatra, like an angel with a halo on her head. She was the Queen of my heart, and I had to snap her picture; she was that stunning. I approached this tall and petite lady, who had the face of an angel, and asked if I could photograph her. She duly obliged, and I took her picture in many different poses and even made a video with her. We spoke for a while, and then I shook her hand and kissed her on the cheek before saying my final goodbye. But by then, I had captured some stunning pictures which I am sharing with you on this blog. She looked like an angel with a harp, untouched and pure. This lady was truly stunning, and her pictures will prove that point.
After photographing the Beauty Queen, I decided to move towards the local city museum. It was here that I sang some Bollywood songs from the film “Disco Dancer” with the lady staff of the museum. They were all very hospitable and even posed and sang old songs for my video. The afternoon was just about heating up, and I was eagerly waiting for the rest of the day to unfold.
