Cukdoo Coo was a large, fat hen with a large red comb on his head. His feathers were dark black with streaks of white in them. He was the tallest and fastest hen in the barn of a farmer called Daya Lal. Daya Lal and his wife, Kunti, lived with their three children in the village of Chandan Pur.
They had two daughters, Damyanti and Sukhwanti. They also had two horses and two fat New Jersey cows that gave the creamiest milk in town. Cukdoo Coo laid a basketful of eggs every day, which the family sold in the market. All hell broke loose when two thieves stole their prized hen, Cukdoo Coo.
Daya Lal went in search of his fat hen with a rifle in his hand. The family took torches and searched for him through the jungle at night, but their search was in vain. In the forest, they met a wolf named Shikara, who said he had heard sounds of Cukdoo Coo coming from a deep cave in the forest and that he could take them there.
Daya Lal reached the cave and found it shut. Where was Cukdoo Coo? Would the family ever find their prized hen? Find out in this exciting novel.
