The nightlife of Ganja, also known as Gence, had to be explored by me. I was happy and a bit hungry, the only one I could think to call was Uslan, and he duly arrived as my guide and well-wisher. “Let’s go to the mall. I have to buy a suit. Maybe then we can just walk on the street,” Uslan told me. “I want to see the sidewalk, the cafes, and the city nightlife,” I explained to him. Then I turned my eyes to the government building on the opposite side of a busy street. I took some pictures of the opulent place that shone in the night sky.
The streets and sidewalks are well-lit at night, and there are yellow lamps spewing neon light into the dark charcoal-black sky. The government building was lit up by hundreds of yellow lights.
There were street lamps, and the traffic on the road was organized. There were green and red traffic signals, and everyone followed the rules. I walked around, just capturing it all. There was a group of youngsters shooting a home video film on the pavement, no doubt trying to get the yellow lamp light into their frames. The night is wonderful in this city as shoppers move through the sidewalks and in and out of underground tunnels. There are many of those in the city of Ganja.
I clicked some cafes, and then finally ventured into the main mall on my street. Uslan and I looked for some new suits, and I decided to grab a Big Mac and eat. But the night was still on, and we decided to eat the Big Macs in my room, which we duly did. No doubt, I am looking forward to seeing the tomb of that great poet, Ganjavi, but we will have to wait a bit longer for that, as yesterday would be my last in this great country which has given me so much adventure.
I will surely cherish this night in Ganja. As luck would have it, the hotel I am staying in is also called Hotel Ganja. Till then, enjoy the pics of the nightlife of Gence city.
