Loitering Around Indore on a Scooter
The best way to navigate city traffic—even in relatively big cities like Ujjain, Prayagraj (Allahabad), and Ayodhya—is to use a scooter, preferably an electric one. Instead of relying on taxis, I prefer being taken around a city on a scooter. Forget rickshaws or autos—the scooter is simply the best.
That’s exactly what happened when Vidhani decided to borrow one from a friend, and we set off navigating the traffic of Indore. It’s fast, easy to handle, and perfect for maneuvering through busy streets. It’s also fuel-efficient and, best of all, incredibly easy to park.
Whenever I’m in Varanasi with my friend Tiwari ji, I use a scooter there as well—it just makes exploring so much more convenient.
It proved to be equally effective when I went to watch the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad. Even there, we relied on the good old scooter to zip through traffic effortlessly.
Riding through Indore, I managed to capture some great shots of the city and its bustling marketplaces while sitting behind as Vidhani drove. We stopped for a while at a gajak shop—Indore is famous for its delicious Gajak, made from jaggery, honey, and wheat. It’s absolutely yummy! There were plenty of flavors—chocolate, vanilla, and honey. I couldn’t resist and picked up a whole box for later.
Indore is a clean and well-organized city. The traffic can be a bit maddening at times, but it’s structured. Like Ujjain, it is also a temple city, with many beautiful temples that I had the opportunity to explore.

Final Thoughts
My advice to any traveler: if you truly want to experience a city, get your hands on a scooter and just go out and explore. It gives you freedom, flexibility, and a closer connection to the place you’re visiting.
