A Day in Miniature Worlds: My Visit to People’s World, Bhopal

There are places you visit, and then there are places that feel like a journey across continents without ever leaving the city. My visit to People’s Mall, Bhopal—popularly known as People’s World—was exactly that: a vibrant, slightly surreal, and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Stepping into a Different World

The moment I entered, I knew this wasn’t just another park. The grand entrance, decorated with bright colours and the unmissable “I Love My India” sign, set the tone. It felt festive, almost like stepping into a fair that never ends. As I walked ahead, the sheer scale of the place began to reveal itself—wide pathways, themed buildings, and a mix of cultures blended into one lively space.

A Glimpse of the Taj

One of the highlights was the Taj Mahal replica. Standing in front of it, I couldn’t help but admire how beautifully it captures the essence of the original. The symmetry, the domes, the minarets—it all felt familiar, yet uniquely playful in this setting. The walkway leading to it, lined with colourful miniature houses and railings, added a cheerful charm. It wasn’t just about recreating a monument; it was about creating an experience around it.

From Mughal Gates to European Streets

As I continued exploring, I passed through a grand red gateway reminiscent of Mughal architecture. A few steps later, the scenery shifted completely—European-style buildings with balconies and colourful flags lined the streets. It felt like travelling through time and geography within minutes. Each corner had something new to offer, something unexpected.

The Unexpected: Ships and Skies

Just when I thought I had seen it all, I stumbled upon a massive structure labeled “Liberty of the Sea”—a ship-themed building that added a touch of adventure to the experience. Nearby, an aircraft model seemed to emerge from a building, making the entire place feel like a playground of imagination. It’s this unpredictability that makes People’s World so engaging—you never quite know what you will see next.

Light, Life, and Laughter

As evening approached, the place transformed. The indoor streets lit up, with families, children, and groups of friends filling the space. I even wandered into the gaming zone, where laughter and excitement echoed through the air. Food stalls, lights, and music blended together to create a festive vibe that was hard to leave.
