The audiobook of my ebook Madness of the Monk launches on audible.com at the price of Rs 199. This is my first attempt to create an audiobook from my e-books. The book cover is also distinct and has a headphone in it to show that this is the audiobook version. We did the recording in Allahabad at a local studio at Rs 1000 an hour but top class set up with the latest machines. The length is around 1hr 11 min in duration and I hope I have priced the book correctly. An audiobook should be more expensive than the e-book as the production cost is higher. The ebook of the madness of the monk is Rs 68.
I will be subsequently launching the audio version of all my ebooks within the next few months, this will get my audiobook revenue coming to another content stream that I can make money from through my blogging. As I am the narrator the cost comes down, I don’t have to hire voice artists or narrators from outside.
